United Way Day of Action is a call for
everyone to LIVE UNITED on the longest
day of the year—and beyond

June 12, 2008

Saturday, June 21 is the longest day of the year. How will you
spend the extra time?

June 21 is also United Way’s national Day of Action—a call to
everyone to take a few minutes to give, advocate or volunteer to
advance the common good. That’s the message of LIVE UNITED.
But more than just a message, LIVE UNITED is a call to social
engagement that creates opportunities for a better life for
everyone, including ourselves.

United Way of Snohomish County is calling for a virtual Day of Action on June 21—or beyond—inviting everyone in Snohomish County to visit our website for 10 simple ways to LIVE UNITED, many of which take only a few minutes but can have a huge impact in our lives and our community.  Suggestions are as simple as reading to a child, scheduling an appointment to give blood, or purchasing fresh produce at your neighborhood Farmer’s Market to support safe, local, healthy food and living.

Living United pays dividends beyond just the good feeling that comes from giving back. Be one of the first 50 people to share how you give, advocate or volunteer and win a free LIVE UNITED T-shirt. Just email liveunited@uwsc.org and put LIVE UNITED T-shirt in the subject line.
(Be sure to give your size and address so a T-shirt can be mailed to you.)

Going somewhere? Take the T-shirt along and enter the Traveling T-shirt contest. Take a photo wearing your LIVE UNITED T-shirt and send it to United Way between now and October 15. The T-shirt that travels the farthest wins 4 Club Seat tickets and 2 free parking passes to an Everett Silvertips game.
